Hasselback Potatoes Recipe

Hasselback Potatoes are a real extraordinary recipe and as this beautiful and outstanding oven potatoes are also called Fan potatoes, we would name them Designer Potato. Hasselback potatoes has been created in the restaurant of the Hasselbacken hotel in Stockholm, Sweden, about the year 1940. For sure this potatoes needs a bit more time and muse than ordinary oven potatoes, but Your family or Your guests will be astonished.

There are 3 tricks to achieve beautiful Hasselback potatoes.
1. Use chop sticks to to stop the cut
2. Before You start, cut the potato straight on one side to prevent it rolls away.
3. Keep that piece and place it upside down under the potato, while backing.
So the potato slices open up like a fan.

Recipe: Hasselback Potatoes
Ingredients:
potatoes
butter

Preparation:
Peel the potatoes and cut them straight on one side.
Place them flat side down on a cutting board and place to chop sticks beside the potato.
Cut 5 mm slices in the potato.
Preheat the oven to 220° – 240° C, place the potatoes on a lightly buttered baking tray
and bake them about 30 – 45 minutes, depending on the size.
In the last 10 minutes cover them with melted butter.
To get a better crisp, put them under the grill for a few minutes.
